Arts & Crafts Festival
Arts and Crafts, chairlift rides, Ski swap, Classic car & corvette display at Jack Frost Mountain.
Artisans participating are judged by a panel of critics and will demonstrate some aspect of their craft during the show. A sampling of crafts include metal sculpture, scrimshaw, handweaving, dried floral arrangements, watercolor paintings, pottery, woodcarving, and so much more.
On both days of the festival, Big Boulder and Jack Frost Mountain Ski Schools are sponsoring a ski swap. This is a great opportunity to get ready for the upcoming snow sport season and purchase top-quality equipment for the lowest prices. Skis, poles, snowboards, and boots of all shapes and sizes will be available.
On Saturday and Sunday, car clubs from the Mid-Atlantic States will be taking part in our Fifth Annual Classic Car and Corvette Display. Check out these fabulous cars and cast your vote for "Best in Show," "Best Paint Job," and "Best Engine." You'll be amazed at the variety of makes and models available to view. Annual Pocono Mountains Run for the Red Marathon

The Pocono Mountains hosts runners for a 26.2 mile race through Monroe County. The top finishing male and female each receive a cash prize of $2,000. This year a Marathon Relay will allow 2-person teams the opportunity of splitting the 26.2 mile distance, each running 13.1 miles. Runners have three choices; they can run the full marathon, a 5K Road Race or they can team up with another person and take part in the Marathon Relay. Registration is $20/5K Road Race, $50/Marathon Race and $65/Marathon until April 24, 2009.

Shawnee Mountain Ski Area is holding its annual Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks, which benefits the Shawnee Volunteer Fire Company. There will be an outdoor DJ, Uncle Sam Stilt Walker, Mark Clark’s “All American Magic Show” and various food & craft vendors. A delicious Hickory Licks barbecue is planned. “The Best Show in the Poconos’,” a full one half hour fireworks display will be at dusk presented by the Castiglione Fireworks Display Company.
